Dog Project

Purpose: The purpose of the 4-H Dog Project is to provide educational opportunities for youth to learn more about their dogs through hands-on experience.

Dear Dog Project Members:

It is with great disappointment that the Dog Project Board has decided to cancel the 2020 training season.
The Sheboygan County 4-H Dog Project has to operate under the guidelines issued by UW Madison’s Division of Extension. As the Covid 19 pandemic progressed, we’ve been meeting and discussing various training scenarios that would conform to 4-H meeting regulations. At this point, to offer enough weeks of training to have a meaningful program, we would have to
practice into September. This conflicts with many kids’ school and sports activities. Having enough trainers to offer all the classes is also an issue, as well as uncertainty as to whether or not we would be able to hold a show at the end of the training season. All these factors came into play as we considered our options. To those members who are graduating from the program, we are sorry you missed your last training season. Please consider competing in the alumni class at the state dog show next year. If anyone has submitted fees for registration costs, your checks will be returned.
The Dog Project Board continues to work and plan for next year, when we hope to offer a full schedule of classes and  events.
Sincerely,
The 4-H Dog Project Board
