Frequently Asked Question
Enrollment Basics
Do I have to enroll online?
Yes. At this time, Sheboygan County uses the 4HOnline system for all youth and adult enrollments. If you need help, our staff can walk you through the process or meet you at a club meeting.
Do I need an email address?
Yes. Families must use an email address for 4HOnline. Free accounts are available through Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc. If you use a placeholder (like firstname.lastname@nomail.com), some program information may not reach you.
Can I enroll on paper instead?
No, but we’re happy to help you with online enrollment. Options include:
- Asking a “club buddy” or club enrollment manager for help.

Project Selection & Deadlines
When are project enrollment deadlines?
- March 1 – Animal projects, blacksmithing, and shooting sports.
- May 1 – All other projects.
Can I change my projects later?
Yes, families can update projects in 4HOnline until the deadlines above. After those dates, call our office to request changes. Only projects enrolled by the deadlines are eligible for showing at the Sheboygan County Fair.
Do I have to enter health information right away?
Not for enrollment, but it will be required for camps, trips, and other programs. You can add it later if needed.
Adult Volunteers & Leaders
How do I enroll as a project or club leader?
Adult leaders enroll in 4HOnline just like members. Select the project(s) you’ll be leading, look for the project name with “LDR” after it.
Do adult leaders need training?
Yes. Adult enrollment will remain pending until background checks and Wisconsin 4-H Volunteer Training requirements are completed.
I’m a Club Enrollment Manager. How do I get that role in 4HOnline?
Enroll as a volunteer, and our staff will assign you the Club Manager role once enrollment is submitted. Club Managers have access to confirm member and leader enrollments for their club.
I’m a parent helping with a club activity (like trips or events). How should I enroll?
Parents should enroll with their family. Select the appropriate “activity leader” option if you’re helping lead a specific club activity.
Troubleshooting & System Questions
I entered the wrong birthdate or grade – how do I fix it?
Contact our office at 920-459-5903. We’ll submit the change to the state system.
Is my family’s information secure?
Yes. 4HOnline uses a secure, encrypted system to protect your data.
Why can’t leaders email directly from 4HOnline?
The system doesn’t allow emails to be sent directly. However, leaders and club managers can download or copy contact information to use with their own email accounts.
Will I get notified when members update their info?
No. Leaders and club managers should log in regularly to check for updates. We recommend treating 4HOnline as a “living document” instead of printing lists once a year.
Club Questions
What if someone enrolls in my club and I don’t know them?
That’s okay – it happens! Reach out to the family using the contact info in 4HOnline to welcome them and explain how your club works.
I don’t see an option for General Leader. What should I do?
General Leaders should look for “Organizational/Club Leader” under the volunteer options.
