New 4-H Family Materials

Welcome to Sheboygan County 4-H!

With the start of the new 4-H year, it’s a great time for new families to learn about the 4-H program. Each month, you’ll receive the Exploring 4-H for New Families newsletter to help support you through your family’s first year in the 4-H program.  You also might receive programming information included as well to engage your child in the 4-H program this year!

Each edition will cover a new topic and will be two pages, front and back. The front page is meant to give adults a more well-rounded understanding of 4-H. The back page is meant for youth 4-H members to either go through on their own or with a parent or caregiver, to explore how 4-H operates and fits their own interests.

While Exploring 4-H for New Families will cover a wide variety of topics, it is completely normal to have more questions.  Never hesitate to ask more questions about 4-H. You are surrounded by a huge number of people that want to help. Your club leader, other families in your 4-H community, and 4-H staff in the Extension Office are all great resources.

Additionally, a number of helpful resources can also be found online. The Sheboygan County 4-H website (https://sheboygan.extension.wisc.edu/4-h-youth-development/) has information specific to Sheboygan County along with the Extension Sheboygan County. Sheboygan County 4-H has a Facebook page as well that is full of information and kept up daily at https://www.facebook.com/groups/sheboygancounty4h/.  The Wisconsin 4-H website (https://4h.extension.wisc.edu/) and their social media also have information about statewide programs and opportunities.
