4-H Awards, Trips, and Recognition

All 4-H Award information has been updated to better help 4-H members and their families understand the process and opportunities available for awards, trips, and recognition. Please note a change this year: The deadline for all applications, portfolios, and books is October 16th.

State awards and scholarships may have a different deadline, noted below:

Awards and Recognition
2024 Meritorious Service and Friend of 4-H Nomination Application– Typically Adults,
2024 Spirit of 4-H Award Application – All ages – Spark/Quality Program/Youth-Adult Partnership
2024 Clover Award Application – 3rd grade and up
2024 Cloverbud Award Application – 2nd grade only
2024 4-H Project Award – Junior Level – 6th & 7th gr, Interviews held mid October
2024 4-H Project Award – Intermediate and Senior Levels 8th gr & up, Interviews held mid October
2024 4-H Travel and Key Award Application

Countywide 4-H Record Book Competition: Sheets and Judging Rubric – Book nominated by club leaders only!
Secretary, Reporter, and Treasurer Recognition: Sheets and Judging Rubrics – Self-nomination process. A binder of records and work kept by each officer can be submitted to Extension.
Club Level Community Builder Award -To be considered for club-level Community Builder Awards clubs must submit a compilation of the results of their service completed throughout the year. Clubs can choose to use their own format or may use/review the Community Builder Form as a guide. Clubs earn cash for their service and the opportunity to hold the Annual Community Builder Traveling Trophy!

Trips/Experiences/Key Awards – Use the Portfolio Instructions including Cover Letter and Resume and  Portfolio – Reference Form to apply for the following.
Any State 4-H Event such as WI Youth Conference, Spark Days, or Fall Forum -Scholarship – grades 7 – 10 – Interviews mid October
National 4-H Conference Scholarship– grades 10-12 – due October 1 – Interviews mid October
American Spirit Scholarship – grades 8 -10 – due October 1 – Interviews mid October
Citizenship-Washington Focus Scholarship – grades 10 -12 – due October 1  – Interviews mid October
National 4-H Congress – grades 11-12, due October 1 – Interviews mid October
Wisconsin 4-H Key Award – grades 11-12, due October 1 – Interviews mid October

Portfolio Instructions including Cover Letter and Resume to be submitted for Project Award, Key Award and Trip Applications
Portfolio – Reference Form – to be included with Project Award, Key Award, and Trip Applications
All applications/portfolios should be returned to the Extension Office 5 University Drive, Sheboygan, WI 53081 by October 1.
